This 1902 rare Barber silver half dollar coin has been carefully mounted into
a high-quality gold-filled bezel design money clip.

The enigmatic and Brilliant Charles Barber was the designer for the US mint
for many years and he designed many neat Quinn lines including the Barber half
dollar, the Barber dime, and the Barber quarter. The style that Mr. Barber
chose for this engraving is reminiscent of later Roman designs. The same style
also draws on Ancient Grecian designs. The Barber half dollar wouldn't look out
of place in the time of Plato or Socrates!

It's a very handsome design beloved by many generations of Americans since it
was first minted in the year 1892. The last year of its mintage was 1916. The
famous engraver Charles Barber was born in 1840 and died in 1917. He was the
United States Mints Chief engraver from 1879 until 1917. Mr. Barber also
designed the Columbian half dollar of 1892 and a Panama Pacific half dollar,
the quarter eagle, and the Morgan silver dollar. His legacy lives on in modern
American coinage.
