Handy Hospital Kids Grab Bag

So we are FINALLY here ...

Introducing my 'Rusty Robot & Friends' hospital grab bag. I have been talking
about doing this for a while and over lockdown decided to give it a go.

Its based on my own personal experiences in and out of hospital all bundled
into one bag which is easily accessible for mums, dads and even paramedics for
those regular visitors.

In the bag I have included items to make your little robot more settled whilst
in hospital, which can be extremely daunting and scary for them.

Pillowcase - this can be used by parent or child previous to the visit so it
smells like home giving the child comfort whilst they sleep.

Waterbottle - this is for the child to use in hospital as no one likes the
jugs and water which spills everywhere! This can be monitored by the nurse and
will encourage the child to drink more fluids. It also has a clip on it to can
be attached to a wheelchair or walking aid.

Tourniquet - new rules meant that recently these were changed to an awful
elastic band which is extremely uncomfortable, the one supplied is a lot more
easier on the childs arm.

Notepad - this can be used for various things such as drawing, taking
notes/dates from consultations, emotion faces if the child doesn't want to
discuss how they are feeling with the doctors.

Glitter wand / keyring - this is a great sensory tool for those difficult
injections. The child is encouraged to count the starts and divert their mind
from an uncomfortable situation for example blood tests. These can also be kept
on parents car keys for those regular doctors appointments.

Puzzles - these are to tame the boredom from the hospital bed. They can be
personalised to have a child's favourite animals, character or even family
photos.

Bag - this is to carry all these items and add pyjamas and favorite comforters
at last minute taking the heat off the parents who can ask others to bring in
other bits later on. This bag in particular can also be used as a
hydrotherapy/physiotherapy bag if needed.

All items come in different colours and other items may be able to be added at
request.

No request will go unheard, I will try my best to make these little robots
hospital visit as enjoyable as possible.
